Listening in the moment when you suddenly have to pivot from your plans is a time when the spirit can shine through, but that improvisation requires not just openness to the moment, but practice as well. This service will explore the spirit and practice of improvisation.

Before our current incarnation of Mother’s Day, Unitarian Julia Ward Howe conceived of a Mother’s Day that would be dedicated towards peace. On this Mother’s Day we will live out Julia Ward Howe’s vision by focusing on how we can nurture peace.

May 1 is known as Beltane for many earth-centered spiritualities and there are several holidays that come near to that date for a reason. May 1 marks the beginning of the season of light. It is a time of impending warmth and brightness. It is also the time when nature prepares to reproduce. Join with us as we celebrate this earth celebration. The service will be lead by Ken Langer, UU Seminarian.

Climate change is a source of anxiety and despair for many of us.  What are the signs of hope out there?  What things are people doing right that we can build upon?  What are some of the latest changes and innovations that we can celebrate?  This Earth Day, we’ll focus on finding hope for the future.
