Academics of colonialism point out that when Europeans came to North America, the Indigenous people had “commerce, economics, permanency, stewardship, inheritances, artistry, drama, ceremony, mourning, health care, politics, justice, penance, peacekeeping, and still do.” As UUs, it is necessary for us to acknowledge the stolen land we stand on every time we come together.
