Imbolc, Persephone, and the Groundhog

Sunday, January 28, 2024

Rev. Dr. Cynthia L. Landrum - Our modern tradition of Groundhog’s Day is rooted in ancient stories of returning from the underworld like Persephone, and the ancient pagan holiday Imbolc on which St. Brigid’s day was overlaid. This service will explore Pagan and secular ways and why we mark the halfway point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox.

Our buildings are now mask-optional. We have designated a mask-required section of our sanctuary. It is marked off and in the back right corner. Please consult with an usher if assistance is needed.
