This is an issue that is not even on most of our radar screens. As one person said, "I didn't even know what I didn't know about Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation." Diane Miller and other Advisory Team Members from Ready Inspire Act House (RIAH) will educate us about this serious social justice issue and share their vision for a Safe House in Metrowest/Central Massachusetts. This is NOT a child appropriate topic. Child care and children's activities will be offered in lower Fellowship Hall.

Led by Our Spiritual Conversation Group Leaders, Ilene Rudman and Elizabeth Cobblah
Every other Sunday during the regular church year, a small group meets between our two services in the Minister’s study to share a poem and engage in reflection and spiritual conversation about it. Poetry can communicate with us in a deep and poignant way. Perhaps you have thought about going to one of these open group sessions. This worship Service will give you some insight into the spiritual practice of sharing poetry. Child care will be provided.

We bring our regular season of Sunday Morning Worship in our sanctuary to a close with our beautiful flower communion ritual. Please be sure to bring a cut flower or two. We will bring them all together in one bouquet symbolizing the unity in our diversity. In doing so, we will recognize the many blessings, gifts and talents we each bring to this community. In gratitude for all we receive from others in our church community we will leave with the flower that another person brought. Two members of our Youth Group will perform a short skit entitled “A Dialogue about Flowers and Men” written many years ago for this special Sunday by our late Minister Emeritus, The Rev. Don Kafka. Our Adult and Youth choirs, under the direction of Mike Pfitzer, will be providing beautiful music. This is a very meaningful service that really communicates what is at the heart of our faith tradition. If you have a friend or neighbor who you think might be interested in Unitarian Universalism, this would be a great service to invite them to attend. Also, during the service there will be an opportunity to sign our membership book and officially join our church.

The Rev. Douglas Wilson, guest minister
Come and learn about the UU camp experience from the expert! As a young minister, The Rev. Dough Wilson served as the Assistant Director of UU Rowe Junior High Camp, where he was deeply moved by the impact these three weeks had on the campers. Soon after Rowe Camp became his home. In 1974, he started the Rowe conference center which operates retreats and workshops during the fall and spring and turns back to Rowe Camp in the summer. He retired in 2012. This morning he will share his many experiences running a UU camp and conference center and explain why they are so important to our movement.
According to Doug, "Summer camps are green houses where young people learn, very fast, what UU values and principles are by putting them into action. If one of our young people were to go to youth group for two hours a week for 48 weeks, s/he would get gold stars for dedication but that time would only equal four days at Rowe Camp, where junior and senior high camps last three weeks. There is no better place for a young person to learn what Unitarian Universalism means."
