Generosity is a rich and rewarding spiritual practice. It is rooted in a loving heart and its benefits flow both to the receiver and the giver. Generous giving is necessary to bring our message of a love that manifests itself in service to and support of each other as well as outreach to the greater community. On this Generosity Sunday we will celebrate generosity and recommit to being good stewards of our wonderful church. There will be an opportunity to make your annual pledge during the service. The Rev. Tom Rosiello will be back from his month-long sabbatical in Mexico to preach and lead worship. Our service will be full of music and will include the Leonard Bernstein anthem, “Take Care of This House” which will be featured at both services. Our Children’s Choir and some of our jazz musicians will join us for the 9 AM service, and our Adult Choir will be joined by more jazz musicians and FPC Drums at the 11 AM service.
Recordings of Past Services
Video recordings of our Sunday services are available on our YouTube channel. Click on icon below to visit.
We also have a collection of audio recordings of selected Sunday 11:00AM services. To hear a service simply click on the red side of the audio player of the one you would like to hear. Alternatively, you can click on the .mp3 link to download the service to your computer or mobile device.
Note: Due to limitations with FPC's current audio system, the sound quality for most musical segments was very poor. As such, many of these pieces have not been included. We are working on upgrading the system so that the complete services can be heard. Also, for reasons of privacy, the "Joys and Concerns" segments have been excluded.

Did you know that one out of 4 women will experience domestic violence at some time in her life? Did you know that many men are also victims of domestic violence? Domestic violence exists among all populations from the poorest to the most affluent. It exists within our own communities. Our guest speaker this morning will be Suzanne Sege, President of the Board for the Domestic Violence Services Network. She will help us to better understand the barriers to disclosure and the resources that are available to help those who need them. Hector Constantzos and Diane Miller, members of our own Domestic Violence Task Force, along with our lay ministers will lead worship. Music will include hymns of hope and justice and will be led by our organist/pianist, Sanghee Kim, with the Adult Choir singing a setting of "Let Justice Roll Down" by Moses Hogan at the 11 AM Service.

The Christmas story is a sweet story of the birth of a child and his promise for the future, but embedded in that story are some powerful messages about exclusion, inequality, power, class and peace. This morning we will look at Christmas through a social justice lens. Music will be under the direction of Mike Pfitzer at both services.

Most of us are "doers" and patiently waiting does not come easy for us. Perhaps you consider "just waiting" to be a waste of your time but it can be the center of a powerful spiritual practice. The season of Advent is a time of spiritual waiting. In spoken words and beautiful music of the season we will explore this message.

David Miller will be our guest minister. Hanukkah is a Jewish festival commemorating the historic rededication of the Temple after a long period of religious persecution; but what does it mean to remember the Temple's deliverance 2,000 years after its destruction? We will look at what Hanukkah has to say to all of us about the lights of hope, community, and dedication in an all-too-dark world.

Prayer is an important religious practice in many faith traditions. Some Unitarian Universalists make prayer part of their spiritual life while others are uncomfortable with it. Prayer means many different things to different people. For some, it is asking God for intervention in their life, while for others it is the contemplation of one's life from the highest point of view (paraphrasing Emerson). Do you pray? Would prayer be a meaningful practice in your life? We will explore these questions in a service led by Rev. Tom Rosiello. Both services will have beautiful music and the Adult Choir will be singing an arrangement of the great spiritual, "Every time I Flee the Spirit" at the 11 AM service. There will also be an opportunity for those who would like to join First Parish to do so during both services.
