Video recordings of our Sunday services are available on our YouTube channel. Click on icon below to visit.

We also have a collection of audio recordings of selected Sunday 11:00AM services. To hear a service simply click on the red side of the audio player of the one you would like to hear. Alternatively, you can click on the .mp3 link to download the service to your computer or mobile device.

Note: Due to limitations with FPC's current audio system, the sound quality for most musical segments was very poor. As such, many of these pieces have not been included. We are working on upgrading the system so that the complete services can be heard. Also, for reasons of privacy, the "Joys and Concerns" segments have been excluded.

Should you have difficulty playing these recordings please contact: webadmin@fpc-stow-acton.org

ONLY ONE SERVICE AT 9 AM

The Rev. Tom Rosiello will be back from his sabbatical and leading Worship with special guest Preacher, Christian Schmitt, Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, California.

Rev. Christian Schmidt
Unitarian Universalists sometimes shy away from language like “blessing,” but should we? We’ll talk about what it means to give a blessing, to receive one, and just what we’re talking about here. You are invited, though certainly not required, to bring a small object — or photo — that’s important to you to be blessed during the service, after which you’ll have it so that you may always have a blessing with you!
The Rev. Christian Schmidt serves as senior co-minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, Calif., and previously served churches in Massachusetts and New Jersey, including in Malden where Ilene Gillispie was his field education student. He and his wife, the Rev. Kristin Grassel Schmidt, have two sons, CJ and John.

Regular religious eduction classes will take place at 9 AM and child care will be provided for the
9 AM service and the Ordination Service at 2 PM.

Rev. Hank Peirce
From a sermon series on the roots of authority in our Unitarian Universalist Tradition. Hopefully this service will fit nicely with the announcement of the Search Committee.

Rev. Hank Peirce
There's an old joke that goes, if you find the perfect church, don't join because you'll ruin it. No church is perfect because people are not perfect, yet we strive to be communities that transform lives, and that is the important thing for us to remember.

Sunday, March 12th, 2017

Rev. Fred Small

Scientists predict that climate change will have dire consequences for humanity and the planet we inhabit. Can global warming move us to change course and build a new society grounded in justice, equity, and compassion?

A Unitarian Universalist minister, singer-songwriter, and former environmental lawyer, Rev. Fred Small is Minister for Climate Justice at Arlington Street Church, Boston. Cited by Bill McKibben as “one of the key figures in the religious environmental surge,” Fred recently left parish ministry to devote his energies to climate advocacy.

The Rev. Hank Peirce
It takes a village to raise a child, yet when that child has an addiction problem, finding support for the child, and for the family becomes difficult, often due to long held assumptions. The sermon will center around the Christian story of Jesus and the paralyzed man.

To Criticize is Not to Reject
led by Rev. Hank Peirce
Did you ever wonder how our theology went from Universalist to universal? Do you wonder what is next in our progressive, evolutionary faith? Well if you haven't don't worry as I have, and will be talking about it today.

Valentine's Day
led by Rev. Hank Peirce
Love has inspired artists to try and express its many forms through painting, dancing, poetry and music. Today we'll try capture some of the spirit and the struggles that come from embracing love.

Sunday, February 5th, 2017

Led by Mike Pfitzer, Director of Music
Have you ever been told that you can't sing? Do you feel that music is for "professionals" or experienced people only? Today we'll explore the "Empowering Song" approach to music, developed by Andre de Quadros, Emily Howe, and Jamie Hillman, that has been used to bring music to people in prisons, impoverished areas, war-torn countries, and other parts of the "forgotten world." Music serves as a vehicle for returning personal power to these individuals where that power is being systematically taken away from them. You'll even have a chance to be empowered through song in the service!

Sunday, January 29th, 2017

Rev. Hank Peirce
Have you ever wondered how it is a faith with so many theological opinions hangs together? Today I'll be preaching on one of the oldest of Western philosophical ideas which has informed and continues to inform our beloved faith.

Over the past 15 years Rev. Peirce has served churches in Auburn ME, Medford, MA and Westford MA. Hank is an interesting guy having been a roadie for a number of rock bands and he has been featured in a number of documentaries on 80’s rock, in print and even on MTV.
