Church life at FPC is somewhat like that of a busy family — there is usually a lot going on! From potluck meals, committee meetings, planning the Fair, small group meetings, to building and grounds work. We build our community through these and many other interactions with each other.
There are a lot of programs at FPC. We deliberately take time out to build our spirits together at Sunday Service and Vespers. We provide Religious Education for our children and youth, make Music together, and engage in Social Justice work as a community. Each of those activities has its own set of pages on this website, but this section focuses on the social and organizational activies that make up life at FPC, and that help make those other programs happen.
Why Become Involved at FPC?
We want you to become involved at FPC because it's the ones who put the most in who get the most out. It's the talents, interests, and energy of our church family that give it life and direction. Try serving on the committees that make our many endeavors happen. Participate in group activities that may be of interest to you. Help out by volunteering on Sundays for coffee hour, Sunday flowers, and ushering. Become involved by teaching in our Religious Education Program, joining one of our Small Group Ministry groups, or by making a contribution of your own special ideas and skills. We invite you to get involved, and make good things happen!

Community Activities
We get together regularly as a community, sometimes involving the wider Stow, Acton and beyond townfolk. Besides our music events, we go on retreat together, take canoe trips, hold a Service Auction, and much more. Most of these activities are yearly, but there is a lot of preparation that goes into them throughout the year. The Community Activities page has more detail about all these happenings.
Spiritual Groups
Our spiritual groups get together to explore topics of meaning and purpose, as well as to cultivate peace and personal growth. Find out about Small Group Ministry, Meditation, and other options on the Spiritual Groups page.
Interest Groups
Interest Groups bring together people who like books, playing Bridge, or other fun activities. Check out the Interest Groups page for details on the groups that are currently running. Do you have a particular interest or talent that's not represented? Consider getting a few people together and start your own group.
Board, Council, and Committees
Many people serve the church community by participating in groups that make things happen, solve problems, plan for the future, provide opportunities for fun and fellowship, and reach out to the community and world. A list of these groups can be found on the Board, Council, and Committees page.
