The First Parish of Stow and Acton will be offering, “Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life,” an opportunity for education, connection and spiritual growth. Using Karen Armstrong’s new book, Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life, we’ll explore the great teachings of compassion from many different sources and work to cultivate, the practice of compassion in our everyday lives. The 12 sessions will be led by the Rev. Tom Rosiello, minister of the First Parish of Stow And Acton. Each month participants will read one chapter of this book and come together to discuss the material and share thoughts on how they might put the teachings into practice in their own life. The group is open to those from all religious traditions and those who do not practice a religion. This program is part of an international effort to activate the Golden Rule globally and joins with other groups around the world to foster a greater understanding of compassion, and cultivate and practice of compassion in individual and community life.
