We need your help to make the 300+ pies for this fall’s Apple Pie Fundraiser!  We need apple pickers, peelers, bakers, baggers, and sellers…no experience necessary.  Training and camaraderie will be provided!  FPC’s apple pies are a long-standing tradition as a fundraiser, fun group project, and culinary delight and require lots of volunteers to make it successful. This is a great way to kick-off the church year, make new friends, and reconnect with old ones.

We need volunteers to:

MAKE CRUST:  7 pm, Tuesday nights, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2.  Join the dough boys in the Fellowship Hall kitchen to learn what makes the FPC pie crusts so special.  This is a great activity for adults and their tweens/teens.  Contact Jim Isenberg (978-263-5134) for more information.

PICK APPLES:  Wednesdays orThursdays 9/12-13, 9/19-20, 9/26-27, 10/03-4.  We need several people, or families, to pick up dropped apples at Shelburne Farms.  Timing is flexible as long as the apples are delivered to the vestry by 5:00 Thursday evening.  Contact Rebecca Stadolnik (978-897-8371) for more information and directions.

PEEL APPLES:  Thursday evenings, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/04 starting at 6:00 pm in the vestry. Each week we need 15-20 people to peel apples and 2 volunteers to coordinate the set up and clean up (arrive early, set up, make sure everything is clean and put away afterwards).  This is a great way to meet other FPCers and to sit and chat for an hour or two.  Bring your peeler…the more the merrier!  Contact Liz Moseley  (978-897-4930) for more information.

BAKE PIES:  Friday mornings, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/05, anytime between 6:30 am and 1:00 pm. We are seeking new bakers - no experience required!  Consider helping out after the kids get off to school in the morning.  We need people to roll pie crust, fill pies, and, best of all, to eat a pie (think quality control).

BAG PIES:  Friday evenings, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/05, at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  We need 2-3 people each week to bag the pies and attach labels once the pies are cooled.

SELL PIES:  Saturdays & Sundays, 9/15-16, 9/22-23, 9/29-30, from 9:45 am-1:00 pm. We will also be selling pies at the FPC fair on 10/6 in three shifts: 9:30-11:00, 11:00-12:30, 12:30-2 or until pies sell out.
