Michael Eric Dyson’s newest book, Tears We Cannot Stop, A Sermon to White America, is an inspiring work by a writer, sociologist and ordained Baptist minister. We are hosting a review of this important work on Tuesday, February 13, at 7:30 in the Community Room of the First Parish of Stow and Acton.
The book is structured as a church service. We will follow the authors ‘order of service” as he provides a discussion of how we need to deconstruct the myth of whiteness. He acknowledges that grappling with whiteness is difficult, but gives us a solid foundation and tools to dismantle it.
Reverend “Dyson invites good, well intentioned liberals and conservatives to “Dig Deeper.” He states, “We cannot hate you. That is our gift to you. We cannot halt you. That is our curse".
